Sir William III arrived in St. Louis, Missouri from Bristol, England on a bright sunny day in March. He was a bit afraid, having traveled so far from his Mom and Dad, but he was looking forward to seeing his new home.
The truck came to a halt and hearing the doors open he could see 6 pair of eyes staring right at him. 4 giggling kids, with their mom and dad shushing them and attempting to keep them calm as Sir William’s crate was taken from the truck. The crate door opened and out he flew, jetting for the grassy green knoll. All 4 kids began to chase him calling, “Billy, Billy come here boy”. William liked the sound of that name Billy.
Maybe he wouldn’t be so homesick after all. There was a lot of room to run and play. He was getting a lot of attention; they were petting him, loving him and best of all, giving him treats. Billy decided he’d give them a chance.
