Continue ShoppingArt has always been easy for me; nothing else ever seemed like it was.
I was born a daydreamer. I see the world in colors, shapes, and potential drawings or paintings. I probably was drawing on the wall inside my mother’s womb.
When I was younger, I could escape into whatever world I wanted to be in by picking up a pencil or pen. I could not contain my enthusiasm and excitement. Art was my passion.
I studied Fine Arts at the University of Northern Colorado. Then, marriage and family came along, and I became too busy and my art took a sideline.
At the age of 38, divorced and a single parent, I went back to school at the Academy of Advertising Arts in La Jolla, California. I studied marketing, advertising, illustration, and graphic design. Computers had just arrived on the scene. A whole new creative world began to open up.
I worked as a graphic designer, illustrator, and in marketing and advertising for Jazzercise, Inc. in Carlsbad, California. Years later, I did freelance work. I began to make greeting cards, create logos, brochures, advertisements, and newsletters. I moved to Northern California and worked in marketing and as a graphic designer for several private companies. After retiring, I tried other mediums and ways to experiment with different types of paper, paint, stamps, and stencils.
I’ve had a lot of fun and those experiments have turned into art that others can enjoy—whether it’s a canvas to hang in their home, to give as a gift, or as a print to decorate their office. My designs are on greeting cards, tote bags, pillows, clocks, and canvas prints.
My belief is that art, in many different forms, can bring life to any place and a smile to every face.
